WHERE DO I PICK UP MY RENTED CAR?

Pick up instructions are sent in the confirmation message when we confirm your reservation. Please read the confirmation message carefully and send us a message if something is not clear to you.

WHERE DO I DROP OFF MY RENTED CAR?

The return of your rented car will be at the location you choose when booking and can be either at Faro airport or at your accommodation in the Algarve. When collecting the car please confirm your drop off locartion with our rep.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY RENTED CAR?

You can pay on collection by credit card, debit card or cash. A credit card will be asked to guarantee a security deposit.

CAN I ADD EXTRAS ON COLLECTION?

Yes. If you want to add any extras when you collect the car just tell the rep and your options will be included in the rental agreement and added to your bill. If you are adding extra drivers please be aware that all additional drivers must be physically present at the time of rental with their own driver's licence to sign the rental agreement.

WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO SHOW AT COLLECTION TIME?

You will need to bring:
- The confirmation message we sent you by email
- Your driver licence. UK licence holders MUST bring the photo card and the paper counterpart of their licence. Your driver licence must be written in Roman alphabet.
- A piece of identity: Your identity card or passport.
- A valid credit card in the driver's name.
- If you plan on adding additional drivers to your contract, all drivers must be present and show their driver licence.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IN CASE OF ACCIDENT?

Call the Police - 112 Call the car hire company (the telephone number is in the contract you signed at collection time). Please fill in the entire accident claim. Keep a copy of the police report. In case of car breakdown please call the car hire company to arrange the replacement of the vehicle. Please be aware that the Insurance company declines accidents not reported to the police, even if you have Super CDW Insurance.

WHAT IF I WANT TO EXTEND MY RENTAL?

If you want to extend your rental while in the Algarve already driving your rented car please call the company using one of the phone numbers in the contract and arrange with the rep the extendal procedure. Please be aware that the complete period of your rental showld be reflected in the contract and you will be considered out of law and fined if police finds your contract is outdated.

WHAT IF ANY EXTRA DRIVER WILL ARRIVE LATER?

If there are extra drivers in your party that arrive later and are not present at collection time they must be included in the contract when it is signed at collection time. Please bring with you a copy of the drivers that will arrive later to be included when you collect the car as the contract can't be amended after it is signed.

HOW CAN I BOOK A RENTAL CAR IN ALGARVE?

We developed a quick booking form car hire facility for reservations in the Algarve directly managed by us. To make a booking simply fill in the booking form and you will receive a message from us to confirm your reservation.

IS MY BOOKING AUTOMATICALLY CONFIRMED?

After you fill in the booking form until the end and confirm we will receive your reservation by email. We will check availabity and viability of your reservation and will send you a confirmation message with pick up instructions.

DO I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING WHEN I BOOK?

No. We don't ask any payment with your booking for reservations for Algarve car hire using our proprietary booking procedure. These bookings are are only payed at collection time.

IS MY BOOKING GUARANTEED?

Yes, since you receive our confirmation your booking is guaranteed and your car will be waiting for you at the date/time/location you selected in the booking form. If for any unexpected reason or unforeseen situation your car can't be delivered we will send you a message explaining the situation and we always try to offer you an alternative arrangement.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM NOTICE FOR BOOKINGS?

We ask that bookings be made with 48 hours notice prior pick up date. At the very least please allow us 24 hours for technical and administrative procedures.

IS THERE A CANCELLATION FEE?

No if using our Algarve booking proprietary engine, since we don't ask any online paymente during the booking process. We only ask you to inform us about your cancelation as soon as you decide it so we can have the car available for other client.

WHAT IF I FIND A BETTER RATE ELSEWHERE?

Please send us a message showing us the offer you have. In most cases lower rates have hidden costs not immediatly visible. We will analyse help you to compare the two deals and we always try to match the lower price.

I DO NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD, CAN I STILL HIRE A CAR?

Yes, in certain circumstances. Please send us a message and we will let you know how you can make a reservation using your debit card.

WHAT IS YOUR FUEL POLICY?

For bookings made for the Algarve using our proprietary booking procedure, the fuel policy is "RETURN AS FOUND"

DO I NEED TO TAKE ANY BUS OF SHUTTLE TO PICK UP MY RENTED CAR?

No, For bookings made for the Algarve using our proprietary booking procedure our cars are parked at the Faro airport car park P4 that is just a short walkway distance from the arrivals.

WILL MY RENTED CAR BE INSURED?

Yes, our rental cars are delivered with third party insurance and collison damage waiver (CDW) with a low excess. If you want to waive the excess you can opt for the Super CDW.

CAN I BOOK A SPECIFIC MAKE OR MODEL?

No, when you book a rental car you are booking a group; inside each group there are several makes of cars but we cannot guarantee the delivery of a specific car as it depends on the cars that are available by the time you arrive to pick up your rented car.

WILL I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING IN CASE OF ACCIDENT?

The first thing you must be aware of that the only proof of accident is the police report. If the accident was not your fault you have nothing to pay. If the accident was your fault you will have to pay the amount of the excess if you didn't opted for Super CDW. If you opted for the Super CDW you will have nothing to pay.

CAN I TRAVEL ABROAD WITH MY RENTED CAR?

Rental cars insurance only covers Portugal. If you want to pass the portuguese border to Spain you need a special insurance which costs 50 Euros per hire and can be booked online with your reservation.

LATE NIGHT FLIGHTS, IS THERE ANY CHARGES?

Our normal working hours at Faro airport hours are between 08:30 AM and 09:00 PM. Our rep will be at the airport at any hour waiting for your flight but deliveries or collections outside our normal working hours are charged at 20 Euros.

DO YOU ACCEPT BOOKINGS FOR YOUNG DRIVERS?

Drivers for car hire in Algarve must have a valid drivers license for at least two years. Drivers with less than 23 years old have to pay a special insurance that costs 50 Euros.

CAN I PICK UP THE RENTAL CAR AT ACCOMMODATION INSTEAD OF AIRPORT?

Yes, we deliver our rental cars to hotels, cillas, resorts or any accommodation. When making the search for booking please select the pick up and drop off location from the list in the search box. After, in the booking form you will have the ability of writing the exact location where you want your rental car to be delivered. We will deliver your Algarve car rental to the that location.

THERE WILL BE ANY HIDDEN EXTRAS?

No. The booking form and the confirmation message will show the price of the car and any possible extras or fees depending on the options you select. No other extras will be added to your booking besides the options you have made.

GENERAL

We only deliver cars in the Algarve, Portugal.
Besides the international airport of Faro we can deliver our rental cars at your hotel or resort upon request and subjected to a small surcharge.
"Rent it here, leave it there" is possible throughout the Algarve subjected to a surcharge depending on the locations (see below).
Deliveries to a hotel, villa or other accommodations only between 9:00 and 19:00
Minimum rental period is 3 days.
Minimum drivers age is 23. Drivers with less than 25 years old are subjected to a "young drivers insurance"
Drivers license must be valid in Portugal and held for more than 2 years. Please ensure to have all necessary documents available for prove.
After your reservation is confirmed, if for any reason you are not planning to go ahead we ask you please to send us a message canceling your reservation. This way we can have the car free for another client.

RESERVATIONS

To make a reservation for delivery, you must provide us with your flight number, flight time and departure airport.
Requests for non-airport delivery must include the delivery address and time. Clients MUST call our contact numbers at least 2 hours before the delivery time to confirm the arrival/booking.
When completing the reservation form, please confirm that your email address is correct and spelled properly. Without a valid email address we cannot reply to you.
Reservations must be made no less than 72 hours before your arrival in Portugal to guarantee a booking confirmation.
Baby/child seats are available upon request. Please mention your need of a child seat within the reservation form to guarantee availability.
Each car may have more than one named drivers. Adding an additional driver is subjected to a € 20.00 charge.

DEPOSITS

We require a valid credit card for security deposit. Cheques or cash cannot be accepted. The credit deposit will be fully refundable when car is returned damage and loss free. Exceptionally we can accept a debit card for security deposit but in this case the subscription of Super CDW is necessary (Please sedn us a message).
In the event of an accident, the excess amount of your vehicle will be charged. These are the excess amounts:
Groups A, B and C - € 950.00
Groups C2, D, E and F - € 1,500.00
Groups G through O - € 2,500.00
By purchasing the Super CDW All Inclusive, the required deposit will drop by 50%.

HOW TO COLLECT YOUR CAR

At Faro Airport you will be received by our rep at Faro airport car park 4.
For collections at your accommodation the car will be delivered to the address you wrote in the reservation form and after confirmed by a phone call. Anyway please stay tunned to receive the confirmation message after you made the reservation as it contains the full details for pick up.
Extra 15 Euro - Faro Airport Taxes, from February 2015. Faro Airport ANA will apply Airport taxes.
Extra 20 Euro - Car delivery / or return service at the airport at night between 21.00H and 8.30H

PRICE INFORMATION

One rental day is equal to 24 hours. Any fraction of time beyond 24 hours is considered as an additional rental day.
The car hire prices quoted on this site are our best rates. Further discounts cannot be granted.
Rates for 3 days are 50 % of the 7-day rates.
Rates for rentals of more than 3 days and less than 7 days are based on the 6-day pro rate.
Rates for car rentals of more than 7 days are based on the 7-day pro rate.
Full payment is required upon signing of the rental agreement. Payment must be made with a valid credit card (Visa/Master/EuroCard, Diners Club) or in cash (including foreign currencies). Foreign cheques cannot be accepted.
Our standard reservation (without any options) includes:
Free unlimited mileage within Portugal
Collision damage waiver (CDW) with excess
Value added tax (VAT)
Available as optional extras are:
Excess waiver (known in Portugal as Super CDW)
Personal accident insurance (PAI) - € 4.00/day
Additional drivers (€ 20.00 each)
Insurance for driving in Spain - € 50.00
SPI Insurance. All insurance, extra € 6/day, to cover locks, windows and tires. (Needs Super CDW).
Soft Roof Rack, cost 75 euro per booking, ideal for surf boards.
These options should be included in the reservation to guarantee delivery availability when you collect the car.
Delivery/pick-up charges:
Zone 1: Vilamoura, Albufeira= 15 Euro
Zone 2: Alvor, Carvoeiro, Portimao, Lagos, Tavira= 25 euro
Zone 3: Burgau, Tavira= 35 euro.
Zone 3: Sagres, VRSA= 55 euro.

INSURANCE

In addition to compulsory third-party insurance, a collision damage waiver (CDW) and theft coverage are provided.
Personal accident insurance is not included in the standard booking. Insurance cover is subject to an excess and your maximum liability is indicated below. Here is the price for optional waiver of the excess:
Groups A, B and C - € 7.00/day (prevents € 950.00 excess payment)
Groups D, E and F - € 10.00/day (prevents € 1,500.00 of excess payment)
Other Groups - € 15.00/day (prevents € 2,500.00 of excess payment)
Optional personal accident insurance (PAI) is € 4.00/day.

DRIVER OBLIGATIONS

The insurance does NOT cover:
Damages to the wheels, tyres, windows, keys and locks;
Damage to the underside of the car due to negligent or off road use;
Damages from deliberate violation of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement or gross negligence;
Further, a police report is always requested for the insurance to cover, no matter the circumstances of the accident/damage to the car.
We decline damages not report to the Police. It is compulsory that the client deliver the Police report when return the car hire.
The Vehicle must not be driven by anyone other than you and then only under the condition that your ability to drive is not in any way impaired by mental or physical incapacity or restricted by the Law.
If you wish to take the Vehicle outside the country of rental, you must check that our Terms & Conditions so permit you and, where necessary, obtain Yor car hire prior written consent.
Some restrictions may apply with respect to:
Loading the vehicle on trains, boats, ferries or similar means of transportation
Taking the vehicle from the mainland onto an island;
Taking certain types of vehicles across borders.
You must take care of the Vehicle, keep it in good repair and condition, pay any fines for which you may be liable, reimburse YOR Car Hire-ARVI for any damage to the Vehicle, and refund YOR Car Hire-ARVI for any costs it incurs.
You are liable for all fees, taxes, fines and penalties incurred in connection with the use of the Vehicle and for which Car Hire may be charged, unless they have arisen through the fault of the company.
The Car Hire company will apply Administration charges for the answer of fines!
During the rental period you must carry out the usual checks (engine oil level, tyre pressure, etc.) as would any careful user and you must respect the maintenance cycle of the Vehicle as stated in the maintenance guide, if any.
When parking the Vehicle, even for a short period, you undertake to lock it and make use of the Vehicle's alarm and/or immobilisation equipment. You must never leave the Vehicle unoccupied with the keys in the ignition. Non-return of the keys will lead to invalidation of the theft cover.
You undertake to use the Vehicle in a responsible manner and in particular, only for the purposes for which it is intended. For a car, this means primarily carrying passengers other than for hire and reward.
In particular, you must not use the Vehicle under any of the following conditions or for any of the following purposes:
Driving the Vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other type of narcotic substances
Transportation of inflammable or dangerous goods, as well as toxic, corrosive, radioactive or other harmful substances
Carrying anything which, because of its smell or condition, harms the Vehicle or causes the Car Hire company to lose time or money before it can rent the Vehicle again
Transportation of live animals (with the exception of domestic pets, subject to prior authorisation by the Car Hire company) with a roof rack, luggage carrier or similar, unless supplied by us.
Re-rental to or use by other persons
Carrying passengers for hire or reward
Participating in rallies, competitions or trials, wherever they may take place
Giving driving lessons
Pushing or towing another vehicle (except those vehicles equipped by the Car Hire company with a towing-hook; maximum load 1,000 kg), or exceeding the authorised load weight.
Travelling on non-paved roads or on roads, the surface or state of repair of which could put the vehicle's wheels, tyres or its under body mechanics at risk.
Iintentionally committing any offence.
None of the goods and baggage carried in the Vehicle, including their packing and stowage equipment, will be permitted to damage the Vehicle, nor put the occupants abnormally at risk.
In any way which breaks the highway Code, road traffic laws or any other laws.
You will be liable for any offence committed during the rental period which relates in any way to your use of the Vehicle, as if you were the owner of the Vehicle. Upon the request of the Police or any official body YOR Car Hire-ARVI may have to transfer your personal data. Such transfer will be done in accordance with the data protection Laws of Portugal.
